Esbensen member of the winning team for the new international criminal court in The Hague
Esbensen contributed with strategies for energy savings, sustainability and indoor environment in Schmidt Hammer Lassen's winning proposal for the new International Criminal Court in The Hague. Esbensen, together with the Dutch engineering company Royal Haskoning Nederland BV have been consultants for SHL, where Esbensen developed a coherent strategy to improve sustainability, energy savings and the indoor environment; building on the Integrated Energy Design process.

"It has been a very exciting process, in which it has been possible to combine many complex requirements for the building with impressive architecture and carefully selected components and regulatory strategies for energy and indoor environment. This has resulted in a project with a strong environmental profile, low carbon footprint and optimal indoor environmental conditions, and where the building's architecture in many ways contributes to achieve these goals, "according to engineers Rob Bindels and Simon Kamper, who have been Esbensen's primary team on this task.

"The close dialogue and the oppertunity to do advanced studies already in the initial stages has provided a good basis for decision making and a coherent process," added Simon and Rob, who along with the rest of the company are looking forward to continue with the project that was recently announced as winner.
