Won Stavanger Forum
Together with the architects GASA AS and Askim/Lantto AS in Oslo, Esbensen A/S won the competition for planning a new exhibition building in Stavanger. Forum is the fair and exhibition area of Stavanger which also comprises sports hall and hotel. In total five project teams participated in the competition.
The new exhibition building in Stavanger is going to be an exhibition object per se. The building is going to set an example with regard to energy, environment and architectural quality. At the same time it is a severe demand, that it has to be a rational and functional building.

Stavanger Forum is going to be an area of low C02-emission. Renewable energy sources are prioritised and the energy consumption must, as a minimum, be 50% compared to todays pratice. The design of the building has focus on making use of the passive capacities of the building.
In the competition contribution, FLYT, there is a deliberate use of windows and good insulation. Futhermore, hybrid ventilation is planned, which gives efficient heat recovery on cold days and use of natural ventilation on warm days.
