| The development project Home for Life aims to create an energy-producing house (active house) based on renewable energy. The principle is that the house produces more energy than it uses. It uses only renewable energy in the shape of solar energy and is thus also CO2 neutral. Solar panels (7m2) produces hot water, a newly developed solar pump produces hot water and space heating, solar panels (50m2) generates power and energy efficient windows with low U-value ensures the supply of passive heat. In the house intelligent control is used for the control of heating and ventilation by use of room sensors, and the light is controlled such by presence detectors. Furthermore, there is automatic control of exterior shading, of interior curtains of skylights and opening and closing times for windows. Esbensen has developed a future-oriented energy concept and handled the design of the building installations. |
