The contest is based on the following problem: How can Farum Midtby develop into a more sustainable direction, and how will Farum Midtby a more eventful suburb center?

The goal is to create a coherent and attractive urban area in Farum. The key words are identity, more experiences and sustainability. The project will also lead the way for new visions in many Danish suburbs.

The contest is a part of Realdania's initiative Future Suburbs, which allow suburban development to the debate through a series of showcases in six Danish municipalities.

The project can be followed on Furesø municipality's website under www.furesoe.dk/farumiudvikling (only in Danish). Here the three candidates competitive proposals can be seen. The proposals now move into the competition's final stage where they will be processed and clarified further before choosing the final winner in a couple of months.
