Prequalified for Arena CPHX

Esbensen, along with Kuben Management, the architects Magor & Nagel and Midt Consult, has been prequalified for the competition for client consultancy in connection with the construction of a multi-purpose arena in Ørestad Syd.

The arena will be multifunctional in order to run events and championships for a variety of sports (hockey, handball, badminton, etc.) as well as concerts, shows, cultural events, congresses, exhibitions, etc. It will have a capacity that allows the order of 10000-12500 spectators at sporting events. The music and the like will have a capacity of up to 15 000 incl. standing spectators.

The arena will be flexible and scalable so that it is possible to have events where only a small part of the multi-arena/spectator capacity is utilized. The final design and layout of multi-arena will be determined in cooperation with the operator.

The building is expected to have a total project amount, including expenses for a total construction contract, consultants, finance, administration, etc. of approx. 1 billion DKK.

It is expected that multi-arena be commissioned in 2015. The client consultancy performance shall be delivered in the period 2012-2016
